We rented our RV from a private owner through rvshare.com. The entire rental experience was excellent and the owner promptly responded to ALL my questions throughout the process. I'll post more about how and why we picked the RV we did later. First I'll share a little bit about our packing and pick-up. One fear, which was compounded when we barely fit everything in the Tahoe, was if we packed TOO much and where it would all fit in the RV. We all squeezed into the truck and made our way about a 1.5-hour drive to the owner's house. Sarah and I both had a nervous "moment of truth" feeling in our stomach as we pulled onto the street since we had only communicated through text and the RVShare website. The "what ifs" momentarily kicked in, but were gone the minute we saw the RV in the driveway! It is perfect!
The owner, Kenneth was fantastic and gave us a good 45-minute walk through every system, subsystem, and even the waste system. We signed some forms, he handed us the keys, and we were officially off!
We drove 15 minutes to Sarah's sister's house where we transferred everything from the Tahoe to the RV. Surprisingly, the RV has an enormous amount of storage and we could have packed MORE!
Everything fit and everyone had a spot! Nothing left to do but say goodbye to Tracy and Allen and hit the road! We are off! It was a perfect launch!! Up next, the first hours on the road.
